It is important that children be involved in environmental issues.In this picture,the children are laughing and discussing their work with great interest,perhaps thinking of how the trees will look once they mature and maybe grow into a forest.They seem to be excited to be working on a project that will provide food,shelter,and shade for animals and wildlife.Planting trees is strenuous exercise but enjoyable,especially as it is easy to see what has been accomplished.These children are learning the importance of trees to the environment and will understand how long it takes a big tree to grow and how quickly it can be cut down.Hopefully they are learning about the balance of nature and how planting trees helps to replace some of the forest that has already been destroyed.

Here we have a picture of a boy and girl planting trees.The boy is piling dirt around the base of the tree while the girl holds the tree up straight.They both seem very happy because they know that they are doing a good thing by planting a tree that will benefit our environment and society.Also,while they are working,they are thinking of the future and how pretty and useful the tree will be once it has grown tall.Even though it's hard work to plant trees,each tree gets them closer to the goal of creating a beautiful forest.There is a bird flying about the small tree they are planting;perhaps someday soon the tree will provide a home for this bird and many others.
