1.直到我回家他才上床睡觉。
误：Not till I came home did he go to bed.
正：Not untill I came homc did he go to bed.
析：till与until一般情况下可以通用，但如果放在句首或强调句、倒装句中，则只宜用until，一般不用till。
2.因为我起晚了，所以没赶上第一班车。
误：As I got up 1ate,so I couldn't catch up with the first bus.
正：As I got up late,I couldn't catch up with the first bus.
析：as当“因为，由于”讲时是连词，而so也是连词。英语中两个句子只能有一个连词，两者只能用其中之一。
3.虽然我很努力，但却没学好英语。
误：Though I wotk hard,but I can't study English well.
正：Though I work hard,still/yet I can not study English well.
析：连词though或although虽不可同时与连词but连接两个单句，但却可与副词yet或still连用。
4.正因为他起晚了，到校才迟了。
误：It is since he got up late that he got to School late.
正：It is because he got up late that he got to school late.
析：because,as,since和for这四个连词虽意思差不多，但只有because引导的分句才能用于强调句型中。
5.我像汤姆一样放风筝。
误：I fly the kite like Tom docs.
正：I fly the kite as Tom docs.
析：like与as都有“像……一样”的含义，但like是介词，后面不能接句子。而as是连词，其后能接句子。
6.“为什么我们要去那儿？”他问我。
误：“Why to go there?”he asked me.
正：“Why shall we go there?”he asked me.
析：一般的疑问词后面都可以接带to的动词不定式。如：I don't know what(how,when...)to do，但why后面则不能。
7.我不知该不该去那儿。
误：I don't know if or not I should go there.
正：I don't know whether or not I should go there.
正：I don't know if(whether)I chould go there or not.
析：whether与if引导宾语从句时，whether后可直接加or not，但if却不行。只有or not放在句尾时，whether才可与if通用。
8.作为一个学生，我们必须努力学习。
误：Being a student,so we must study hard.
正：Being a student,we must study hard.
析：本句是一个简单句，只不过里面含有分词短语，所以，不用并列连词so。
9.无论下不下雨，我都去那儿。
误：I'll go there if it will rain or not.
正：I'll go there whether it will rain or not.
析：一般地，if与whether只有后者才能引导让步状语从句、表语从句和主语从句。
10.他不但是个好老师，而且是个好歌手。
误：He is a not only good teacher but also a good singer.
正：He is not only a good teacher but also a good singer.
析：not only...but also...要求连接的对象完全对等，也就是说，连接的两个句子成分要么都是主语，要么都是谓语、宾语、表语、状语等。
