一、高中英语词汇教学的重要性
词汇教学是英语教学的重中之重。在高中阶段,考试大纲要求学生掌握3500个词汇。我们的教学也每时每刻不是在要求同学们积累词汇。因为词汇积累是英语学习的基础。Without grammar little can be conveyed, without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed.
二、高中英语词汇教学的现状
许多高中尤其是农村薄弱高中,有的单纯只注重成绩,进行的是典型的填鸭式教学。尽管老师们在讲台上费力讲,在黑板上尽力写各个单词的发音、用法、固定搭配、例句等,学生们的收效并不尽如人意。学生仅仅通过读单词、抄写单词,记忆较慢也不够牢固。如何激发学生们认识、学习、记忆单词的激情和持之以恒的热情是很值得研究并且很有意义的事情。老师们可以巧设情境进行词汇教学。
情境教学是我们非常推崇的教学方式。通过设置相关情境,使学生们“声临其境”在语言环境中,极大提高同学们学习的激情和兴趣。只要有心,我们都可以根据学校和班级条件创设这样的情境。事实也证明,在这样条件下积累起来的单词不容易忘记。
三、巧用情境教学策略进行词汇教学课例
1.课例背景
本节课是宁乡市彭建伦名师工作室的一堂公开课,授课地点为宁乡市第四高级中学(省重点高中),授课教师曾向峰老师采用情境教学策略教授Model 6 Unit 2单词复习,得到了听课老师的一致好评。
2.教材分析
译林版《牛津高中英语-选修》每册有四个单元,每个单元围绕一个话题展开。本次课例和教学内容选自高二年级第一学期所学内容。 Model 6 Unit 2标题为“What Is Happyniess To You”。授课老师将有关Happiness的词汇结合在一起,帮助同学们对本单元词汇进行复习。
3.学生分析
授课对象为高二年级学生。本校为省重点高中,生源素质普遍较好。
4.教学目标:
1)To learn some words for school life.
2)To talk about happiness in your shool life.
5.教学过程
Step 1以游戏导入。Imitate the following characters (美猴王、小沈阳、龚琳娜)
[设计意图]邀请班上的开心果为大家模仿这几个人物,欢笑中引入happiness主题。
Step 2 展示文本,巩固单词
1)要求同学们翻译部分语句中单词(形容词)含义。
Our school life is busy but golden.
Every morning we get up early to run on the playground to build up our body with the teachers accompanying us .In the school we get along well with the teachers who are admirable . When we are faced with trouble and want to quit,the teachers always tell us there is no instant success and difficulties are temporary .They often assist us in study and life .The teachers always advocate going after happiness in studying.Every day we study hard to accomplish our dreams---being outstanding students.We can't have adequate time to play, but it is not unbearable.We have adapted to the school life,and we are trying to look for happiness in our school life.
Adjectives(形容词)
Translate the sentences :
①Our school life is busy but golden.

[设计意图] 文本材料为授课老师自创。用本单元所学词汇描述了我们的校园生活,引入真实生活情境。在真实语境中,巩固本单元所学单词。
2)以点带面,深层练习
看图填空。每个练习都配了相关场景的照片,利用真实生活情境完成句子。

[设计意图] 设置同学们熟悉的场景内容巩固所学单词。学以致用,也教导了学生用所学讲好身边的小故事。
3)头脑风暴,拓展思维
Positive adjectives for yourselves: We are_______.
hard-working=diligent;positive;active;confiden;intelligent=wise; ambitious有雄心壮志的;energetic 精力旺盛的;generous 慷慨大方的;humorous 富于幽默的;outgoing 爱交际的,外向的;warm-hearted 热心的; honest 诚实的 ;enthusiastic 热心的; quick 敏捷的
[设计意图]拓展了同学们的思维,巩固更多相关词汇。
4)小游戏--快速反应(Quick Response)
Tell us the meaning of the words.屏幕会闪现golden, admirable, instant, temporary, adequate, outstanding, unbearable 等词汇。
[设计意图] 利用小游戏提高同学们背单词的兴趣。游戏设置不难,谁都可以完成。但是可以以速度一决高下。
Step 3 动词巩固
1)要求同学们翻译部分语句中单词或语块(动词)含义。

2)观察语句并总结划线词用法。
3)小游戏(choose your lucky number)。
要求学生选择自己喜欢的数字,每个数字对应一个题目(题型种类繁多)。答对会有相应分数。
4)学生生活类动词词块积累
更多词块以填空形式让学生拓展
[设计意图] 详讲动词。观察-总结-练习的过程,符合学生学习规律。练习也与真实语境结合。适时总结相关语块,帮助学生归纳总结。最后拓展学生思维,对本语境词块进行进一步拓展。
Step 4 Interview
If you are a reporter, please interview your parner about happiness using what we have learnt:
Reporter: Hello, I’m a school newspaper reporter. What's your happiness in our school life?
Interviewee: ...
Reporter: Being thankful is happiness. Who do you want to thank in your school? Why?
Interviewee: ...
Reporter: Thank you for your wonderful interview.
Interviewee: My pleasure.
[设计意图] 设计活动输出本堂课所复习语块,给予相关提示,确保操练重点为本课所复习内容。
Step 4 Homework
Writing a short passage about how to find happiness in your school life by using the words we have learned.
[设计意图]步步为营,所学均为作业服务。及时检验学生掌握程度。
6.教学反思
本堂课设计新颖,因为设置了情境学习巩固本单元单词因而过程也是轻松愉快的。评课老师们普遍认为本节课尽管容量大,但能根据学生实际步步为营、循序渐进地完成教学目标。授课教师非常巧妙的设置了情境,让人回味悠长。
