非谓语动词是英语中的一个重要语法点,在历年高考题目中都不同程度地涉及,虽然 考查的方式可能略有不同,例如单项选择题中一定会考查,短文改错中也时有出现。此 外,考生若能在书面表达中恰当运用非谓语动词,则定会使文章生色不少。有鉴于此, 牢固把握非谓语动词,对于考生顺利通过高考,具有重要意义。

笔者现选取2004年全国15份英语试卷中较有特色的非谓语动词题目,对这一项目的考 查点,略加阐述。

偏难题

答案A。这是学生在平时的练习中也容易大量出错的问题。此题误选的主要原因是考生 不清楚A选项是现在分词的完成形式,表示该动作在主句谓语动词之前发生。

容易题

A.Compare B.When comparing

C.When compared  D.Comparing

答案C。考查的是分词逻辑主语跟句子真正主语一致的问题。

应会题

答案B。不定式的完成式,表示该动作发生在过去。这一点非常重要,也是历年高考出 题点比较集中的地方之一,属易错题。

答案A。祈使句,判断标准是句中有一个and;严格讲此题不属于非谓语动词,但是另 外三个干扰项都是非谓语动词,且具一定迷惑作用,所以虽然考查句子,但是放到非谓 语类也顺理成章。

摘选的目的是想说明此语法项目的重要性。总的来看,难度较高的题目并不多,在平 时的复习中都应该有所涉及。但是从反馈情况来看,考生作答的情况却是不尽如人意。 其实历年的试卷中还有许多有特色而且本身不难,但是正答率不高的考题。分析原因, 一方面,概念不清;另一方面做题时粗心;还一方面则是练习的量与频度不够。学生要 想熟练并且正确使用非谓语动词,明白概念固然重要,但是最重要的是使用。方法有三 :其一,多做中等难度的常见题,记下自己出错的题目及出错原因,找出自己在理解上 的偏差并加以纠正;其二,在书面表达练习中有意识的使用非谓语动词,同时与同学相 互切磋或请行家里手为你斧正;其三,在每天的阅读文章中选取一篇作为准精读文章, 其中一项就是学会发现并且体会文章中非谓语动词的精妙处。对于第三点,有的同学会 感到有些抽象,不知道如何发现怎样体会,其实我们的课文中就有不少句子写得很好。 高三《吴哥窟》的倒数第二段中有这样一句,To make things worse,many of the men have gone off to cities in search of higher pay,leaving women from nearby

villages to carry on with the work.在这个29词的长句里现在分词和不定式的使用 非常好。再比如该册书后面的完形填空中第四段On hearing this,Marlin got angry

and shouted…上句中的on hearing若没有on,只是一个分词短语句子也正确,加上on 后生动形象,要比as soon as后跟状语从句好。

总之,非谓语动词相对于其他语法项目来讲略显繁琐,但是只要考生能够明确把握概 念,又有一定练习作为基础,再辅以胆大心细,相信在高考中会取得理想分数。
