对划线部分提问,是初中英语考试中经常见到的一种题型。所谓“对划线部分提问”,实际上就是用特殊疑问词将原句改为没有划线部分的特殊疑问句。说是简单,学生却很容易出错,稍微难一点,学生就摸门不着,不知从何处着手了。下面就如何应对这类题型的解题策略做一简单综合,以飧读者。
一、一般情况,采取“三步走”原则,记住口诀:一变,二换,三提前。
例:Tom visited his grandmother last weekend. (对划线部分提问)
第一步,“一变”,即将原句变为一般疑问句。
Did Tom visit his grandmother last weekend?
注意,此时划线部分一定要画上线,因为还未完成解答,不划线就容易忘掉题意。
第二步,“二换”,即找准特殊疑问词替换划线部分。此句对“last weekend”提问,问时间,可用“when”替换。即:
Did Tom visit his grandmother when?
第三步,“三提前”,即将特殊疑问词提到句首。
When did Tom visit his grandmother?
做题成功,可抄于试卷或与原题对照。这样做的好处,就是不容易出错。
二、几种特殊情况。
1.对主语提问,不用“三步走”,一步到位,即用特殊疑问词代替划线部分(主语是人用“who”代替,主语是物用“what”代替)即可。
如:Mr. King drives his car carefully.(对划线部分提问)
即为Who drives his car carefully?
My bike needs repairing.即为What needs repairing?
2.对主语的定语提问,也不必“三步走”,只需疑问词代替划线部分即可,但,特别提醒,当对后置定语提问时,疑问词必须放于主语之前。
期刊文章分类查询,尽在期刊图书馆如:
1). The teacher`s room is on the second floor.(对划线部分提问)
即:Whose room is on the second floor?
2).The place with food and grass is elephants` home. (对划线部分提问)
即: Which place is elephants` home?
3.对动词提问,使用“三步走”,但第二步时,用“do what”代替划线部分。
如:He wants to go to school now.(对划线部分提问)
第一步,变一般疑问句,
Does he want to go to school now?
第二步,用“do what”代替划线部分,
Does he want to do what now?
第三步,特殊疑问词提前,
What does he want to do now?
4.对宾语的定语提问,也用“三步走”,但第三步时,要将被修饰的宾语一起提前。如:
He drank two cups of water just now.(对划线部分提问)
第一步,Did he drink two cups of water just now?
第二步,Did he drink how many cups of water just now?
第三步,因为how many 与of water都在修饰宾语cups,所以,应将宾语及修饰语of water 一起提前。即:How many cups of water did he drink just now?
再如:He drank tow cups of water just now.→
第一步,Did he drink two cups of water just now?
第二步,可把tow cups of看作一个整体“数量词”,修饰宾语water,而water为不可数,表数量的疑问词应how much,所以,
Did he drink how much water just now?
第三步,和宾语一起提前,How much water did he drink just now?
特别注意,上面不论哪种提问,时态必须与原句一致。
