I am glad to learn from your letter that you will apply for admission to my university and1 ask for my suggestion.As your best biend,I want to suggest that you apply for computer major.One reason is that computer course is both interesting and useful.Another reason is that there are not only best computers but also best teachers in my university2.Perhaps the main reason is that computer3 is developing very fast in China,so you will find a good job after graduation.
But you must have some basic qualifications if you want to apply for it.First,you4 have finished your high school study and got5 a graduation certificate.Second,you have a lot of computer knowledge and know basic computer programming.Third,you like this major and plan to make contributions to its development.Finally,you must be healthy as well6.

1.这里最好不省略连词that，因为前面that从句的谓语是will apply for，如果省略了that，就会被理解为...you will ask for...。
2.Doug认为介词短语in my university容易产生歧义：仅修饰teachers，不修饰前面的computers，所以做了修改。
3.computer是可数名词，在这里应该用复数，或者在前面加上定冠词或不定冠词。实际上不管是用复数还是加冠词，意思都不够准确，所以Doug在“参考作文”中将其改成了the computer industry，请大家细心体会。

There are some basic qualifications that you must have to study computers at my university.First,you must have finished your high school study and have a graduation certificate.Second,you must like the major and plan to make a contribution to its development.Third,you must be healthy.Finally,you must know a lot about computers and have some basic knowledge of computer programming.
Of course,we can't forget about the entrance examinations.I'd advise that you study as hard as you can and that you learn as much as you can about computers.In a word,you must be prepared.I'm sure that you'll do fine.
